The Happy Bagpiper: Bagpipe Performance, Instruction, Retail, and Celtic Culture (LLC) is a company devoted to teaching and performance on the Great Highland Bagpipe and the quieter but equally impressive Smallpipe. Headquartered in the Philadelphia metropolitan area, The Happy Bagpiper LLC offers:
- The very highest-quality solo bagpipe and pipe band (pipes and drums) performances for weddings, parties, funerals, memorial services, corporate celebrations and promotional events, and a wide range of other occasions.
- Premium in-person and online instruction from the area’s only full-time professional bagpipe teacher, with proven methods for helping child, adolescent, and adult learners — even those with little or no musical experience — achieve their bagpipe playing and performance goals.
- The Happy Bagpiper also sells new professional-quality bagpipes and bagpiping supplies for learning and performance, including practice chanters, bagpipes, reeds, and a selected range of other accessories. The Happy Bagpiper is proud of its in-person service to the greater Philadelphia metro area, including Delaware, Maryland, Eastern Pennsylvania, and New Jersey, but has happy clients as far away as Germany and Japan via the Internet and mail!
The Happy Bagpiper performances are provided by a large, hand-picked network of skilled, veteran bagpipers and drummers serving a geographic area from Philadelphia, PA, south to Wilmington, DE, Baltimore, MD, and Washington, DC, north to Trenton, NJ and the greater New York City and northern New Jersey area, as well as west to Harrisburg, Lancaster, and Allentown / Bethlehem, PA and east to the NJ, DE, and MD shore points. Our expertise ensures that every Happy Bagpiper client will have the very best Celtic bagpipe music at every type of event.

About Thom Moore
Thom is a highly trained musician-bagpiper with over 4 decades of experience as a champion solo and pipe band competitor on the Great Highland Bagpipe, with hundreds of trophies and medals in his record of competitions sanctioned by the Eastern United States Pipe Band Association (EUSPBA) and the Pipers and Pipe Band Society of Ontario, Canada (PPBSO).
A certified, successful grade 1 solo competitor (grade 5 being the lowest) and former member of more than a dozen competition-level pipe bands, Thom is a sought-after performer and bagpiping instructor for individuals and pipe bands. Thom is the Bagpiping Instructor to both the Camden County (NJ) Emerald Society Pipes & Drums and the Philadelphia (PA) Police & Firefighters Pipes & Drums bands and he provides lessons, workshops, and seminars to many other bands and individual bagpipers both in person and online.
